SCOTT INTERNATIONAL MANAGEMENT is a proper athlete management organization. Our priority is personal service and care for our contracted clients, ahead of flashy offices and high priced addresses. In other words, we care for substance, not frills.
We actually manage our athletes' careers, instead of simply providing their names and statistics to be included on gigantic lists run by other agents, in other countries, whose first obligation - naturally - is to their own clients. The athletes of other managers come a distant second in their priorities almost all the time.
Our priority is to look after the fate of our friends, our clients, personally. We do not confine ourselves to farming them out to strangers half a world away, as do many so called athlete management operations. Ever since SIM was launched in 1998, we have invested enormous amounts of time, effort and money to establish personal contact with an ever increasing number of the leading clubs, administrators and coaches around the world, especially in the biggest market of them all - Europe. This does not mean that we won't cooperate with other player managers, if there is a good opportunity for one of our players, with our Spanish partner probably the best example. We have had years of fruitful cooperation with him - with great benefit to several of our clients and have, in turn, brought one of his to Australia. We also have trusted and valued occasional partners in France and the United States.
Months on end, we are on the road, going from club to club, from country to country, making friends, nurturing valuable contacts, establishing a bond of trust, which makes SIM one of the first management organizations an increasing number of clubs turn to with their recruiting requirements. And this hands on involvement will only increase with the opening of our full time European operation.
It doesn't mean we can always help out a club, but clubs do know that they can trust SIM. We take great care in trying to ensure that our players and the clubs we do business with are the best possible match. And our success rate is the envy of all in the world of basketball.

NEVER, ever do we treat our clients as if they are idiots. When you are in a partnership with SIM you will always know that we give you the truth - unvarnished, without spin.
At SIM we start from the automatic assumption that we are dealing with intelligent, honest and motivated human beings, that our clients are professional in every sense of the word. We will not fool you, not from us the "guarantee" that you will find success if you just sign on the dotted line with us. What we do guarantee, is that we will work very hard for you, the athlete. That we will leave no stone unturned to ease your way along the path of a successful professional career. The athlete's obligation is to make sure that he or she is in a state of preparedness to perform to his or her full potential.
Its a simple equation. SIM creates the opportunity; you, the athlete, have to perform. No more, no less.

BASICALLY, we need information about you, about your level of skill and talent, about your motivation. We need to see you in action. Below are a few clearly explained actions, which can be the first steps along the way to realising your dream to become a professional athlete.
It has to be emphasised at this point, that we only take on the management of individuals who are prepared to enter into written agrrements with SIM. Ours is a professional operation and we work - and work very hard - for those individuals who are willing to show a certain amount of commitment to SIM.

IF you wish to pursue possibilities for the future, we will require your best full match videotape. Highlights are fine for a quick introduction, but serious coaches want full match videos. We will also ask you to provide us with photographs and biographical details, so as to assist us in preparing a comprehensive information kit, which we will supply interested clubs and coaches with.

... AND REMEMBER, WE ARE MANAGERS, NOT AGENTS!
WHAT is the difference? Simple SIM works for the athlete, not the club. Agents, try to fill vacancies which clubs notify them about and, in many ways, really represent the employer (club), ratehr than the employee (player).
Not us! Whereas most players, after they sign a contract, hardly ever hear from their agent again until its time for the next recruiting period, SIM clients know that we are on call for them throughout the year. We truly manage their careers, rather than just act as agents for their placement the following season.
In fact, one of the basic suggestions we make to SIM players is to immediately let us know about any problems which may crop up during their employment. Let us handle these problems, divorce them from any possible conflict with the employer, then manager and client can consult on the best possible course of action.
The player's job is to play; ours is to manage, to look after their careers.
We share all information with the client and, unlike with many other agencies, SIM athletes are made fully aware of all offers, all opportunities. We are acutely aware that our role is one in a position of trust and we act accordingly. In turn we expect professionalism, honesty and loyalty from the athletes we work so hard to develop rewarding careers for.

WE are very serious about the privacy of our athletes. All material and information provided will only be used for the purposes described above. Without specific permission from the athlete, no information will be given or sold to other parties for any purpose other than the promotion of the careers of our clients.

WHILE we got our big start in the sports management business due to the efforts of the many wonderfully talented woman players working under our banner, it doesn't mean that we were not interested in the men's game - its just that we progress and expand with care and after thorough planning.
That has now happened and SIM, we will be investing much of our energy and resources into making the men's side of our operations as successful, respected and internationally renowned as we already are in the women's game. A few words from Peter and Frances Scott
WHEN we commenced our basketball activities with one player on our books - but what a player in Alicia Poto - in 1999, many questioned our sanity. However, we ignored the doubters, inspired by an utter and unquestioning faith in the talent of Australian women players. It all seems so long ago now.
We have outgrown the confines of Australia, with Scott International Management looking after the careers of players and coaches carrying the passports of Australia, New Zealand, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Israel, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Croatia, the Netherlands and the USA. We have secured contracts with clubs in Sweden, China, Belgium, Germany, Britain, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Finland, Hungary, Greece, Israel, Australia and New Zealand, among others. It took a bit of time, lot of financial sacrifice, optimism and faith to get to where we find ourselves at this time. More than that, it took the talent of you, the players, and the farsightedness of our partners, the clubs, to get so far in such a short time.
